SALEM looking for the glass slipper as "cinderella" Cup Winners comes to shocking end with 5-3 upset loss to stars.powerhouses' penalties costly in loss.. Rob Liberatore 40 saves not enough for salem. Stars forward Chris wirght( 2 goals 2 assists) leads the way for stars..goalies sean mahoney and ray dunn combine for win...salem jumps out to a quick 3-0 lead and then the bottom falls out.( only dressed 15) as stars rally back for the next 5 goals and salem runs out of gas. Scott chiavelli game winner with 6:05 left seals orangemen fate. 4 power play goals 2 on a major doomed the salem squad.salem scorers were dakota mckenzie,rob murray , and jack ceglarski.stars got tallies from wright(2),and solos from porrecca,chiavelli,and drizen.Ss xaverian brothers high school committs to super 8 fall division joining malden catholic,st johns,st. marys,and Waltham (austin prep and matignon close to joining) division 1 will include melrose, wakefield,saugus,lancers gold,st johns gold , natick,bedford,and more to join making the nshshl the strongest high school league in new england

NOW LEAGUE STARTS May30 
Lancers running all eight cylinders showed just why they will be a huge force in the Catholic Conference this season. The powerhouse squad has no holes and is so balanced and offensively gifted, goals will come in spurts this season for sure. The backside is loaded with big mobile defensemen who move the puck well on the breakout. John Carboneau and Ryan Dimarre will handle the pipe work and they round out a very gifted squad. Look for the Malden Boys to give every team in the Catholic Conference loop a run for their money. Coach Serino will have a much easier job this season as his young team with very few upper classmen play like seasoned veterans. He may only have to open the barn door in some games this season and let the thoroughbreds out.They will be a surefire Super Eight club this season.Good Luck Lancers from the North Shore High School League. They have improved vastly over the summer besting a 2nd place finish in the SUMMER league and dominating the Fall League.It will be fun watching this club play this season a talented group of players who play with discipline and poise as well as class.

Saugus Sachems played their hearts out against the Lancers but would be denied in their quest for the Buski Cup. The Sachems employed a great game plan and actually played well in the early going. The Lancers would eventually wear the Sachems down and strike at 15:39 and again at 4:52 for a 2-0 lead. Rochville played well in net but had to face some rockets as did Essery in the later stages of the game. Saugus got great efforts up and down the lineup but simply ran out of gas versus a much deeper bench on the other side. Coach Chris Connors will take the positives from the runnersup and build on it for the seaon. Mike Scuzzerella,Derek Stretton,Justin Chiulli, Tyler Calla, Ryan McManus,Steve Strangie,and Craig Cooper(goal) all played very well and will take the monmentum into the season to transition into the
